Kru Ali Hanjani

Founder & Head Coach: Muay Thai, BJJ, MMA

Former professional MMA fighter and titleholder. Lineaged under Serial Boxe Muay Thai and Pagsuko BJJ. Founded Limitless in 2017 to build the academy he wished he'd had when he was starting out.

Background

Kru Ali Hanjani's martial arts career began in 2006, when he stepped onto a mat for the first time under Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Will Ellis of Pagsuko Fight Team. What started as a search for discipline and a different kind of training quickly became the center of his life. Within a year he had added Muay Thai under Sensei Benjamin Schissler of Serial Boxe Fight Team, beginning a lineage that would shape both his fighting career and, eventually, the curriculum at Limitless.

After capturing multiple titles in the amateur ranks, Kru Ali turned professional in 2010. He spent the next six years competing in the professional MMA ranks across the country, capturing a title before making the decision to retire from competition in 2016. The decision wasn't about leaving the sport. It was about giving it back. He had spent a decade absorbing technique, time, and patience from coaches who'd invested in him. He wanted to do the same for the next generation.

In 2017 he founded Limitless Combat Academy with a clear purpose: build the academy he wished had existed when he was starting out. A place with real coaching, verifiable lineage, and an environment built around respect rather than ego. Eight years later, that's still the work.

Since founding Limitless, Kru Ali has continued to train and compete in his own way, and has cornered students in Muay Thai, MMA, and Jiu-Jitsu competitions throughout the nation. He brings the perspective of a former pro fighter to every class he teaches and every fighter he corners technique matters, conditioning wins fights, and the work done in the gym shows up exactly when it needs to.

Lineage in Detail

Muay Thai: Serial Boxe Fight Team

Kru Ali trained Muay Thai under Sensei Benjamin Schissler, head of Serial Boxe Fight Team and creator of the Serial Boxe Striking System. Schissler is a respected international Muay Thai instructor whose system has produced professional fighters and high-level competitors around the world. Limitless is an official affiliate of Serial Boxe Muay Thai, meaning the curriculum and rank progression at our academy trace directly back to that lineage.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Pagsuko Fight Team

Kru Ali began his BJJ training under Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Will Ellis of Pagsuko Fight Team in 2006. He has trained, competed, and coached BJJ for nearly two decades and continues to develop his own game alongside his students.

MMA: Six Years Professional Competition

Kru Ali's MMA training was forged across multiple coaches and camps during his professional career. He brings the perspective that only comes from having actually fought professionally, knowing what works under fight-level pressure, what doesn't, and what to teach students who are training to compete.

Coaching Philosophy

Technique before intensity

Students who learn technique properly progress faster, get hurt less, and end up better fighters than students who train hard before they train right. Kru Ali insists on the order, fundamentals first, every time.

The honest correction

Kru Ali tells students what they're doing well and what they need to work on. He doesn't sugarcoat, and he doesn't manufacture praise. That directness is one of the things students consistently mention about training under him, and it's why the progress at Limitless tends to be real.

Build the room you want to train in

The culture of a gym is set by its head coach. Kru Ali sets the tone every day: no ego, no posturing, students helping each other, coaches working hard for the people on the mat. That environment is intentional, and it's protected.
