Our Coaching Staff

Real lineage. Real experience. Real coaches who came up inside martial arts, not weekend-certified instructors. Meet the team that built Limitless.

Why Lineage Matters

Most local martial arts gyms have one head coach who teaches everything passably. That model has obvious problems: no one is a true specialist, the lineage of each art gets diluted, and students learn a generalist version of every discipline instead of the real thing. We don't operate that way.

Every discipline at Limitless is taught by a coach with real credentials and verifiable lineage in that art. Our Muay Thai program is an affiliate of Serial Boxe under Sensei Benjamin Schissler. Our BJJ program is an affiliate of the Shokunin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association under Robert Wunderlich. Our wrestling program is led by a collegiate All-American. Our strength & conditioning is led by a coach with a formal degree in Exercise Physiology.

That depth is the single biggest difference between Limitless and most gyms in the area, and it's the reason our students learn the real thing, not a watered-down combination.

Kru Ali Hanjani

Head Coach

Kru Ali began his MMA career in 2006. After capturing multiple titles in the amateur ranks, he turned professional in 2010 under the tutelage of Sensei Benjamin Schissler of the Serial Boxe Fight Team. He spent the next six years competing at the professional level, retiring from active competition after capturing a pro title to focus his attention on leading the next generation of martial artists.

Since 2017, Kru Ali has dedicated himself to coaching, training, and cornering students in MMA, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions nationwide. An accomplished martial artist across multiple disciplines, he holds a Black Belt in Muay Thai under Benjamin Schissler and a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Robert Wunderlich.

Coach Josh DeSherlia

Wrestling

Collegiate All-American wrestler with over 20 years of coaching experience across all ages and skill levels. Leads our adult wrestling program.

Coach Mark Kondenko

Beginner BJJ, S&C, Private Training

Mark Kondenko began his martial arts journey in 2015 shortly after graduating from CU Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology. Invited to a class by a co-worker, he was instantly hooked and has been dedicated to studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai under Kru Ali Hanjani ever since. Mark found that the tight-knit, family mentality at Limitless—combined with world-class instructors and teammates—made it the perfect environment to grow.

An avid competitor, Mark has tested his skills across multiple disciplines, competing in mixed martial arts (MMA) and consistently landing on the podium at high-level Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, including multiple medals at Fight 2 Win and Grappling Industries. Mark blends his extensive combat experience with his academic background in sports science to help others reach their potential. He currently teaches beginner Jiu-Jitsu classes, leads the Strength and Conditioning program, and offers tailored personal training.

Coach Rachel Fiddes

Muay Thai, Women's Training

Active Muay Thai competitor. Trained under Kru Ali Hanjani since 2016. Leads our women's training and works extensively with our kids and adult Muay Thai programs.

A few principles shape how every coach at Limitless approaches a class:

How We Coach

Meet students where they are

A complete beginner needs different coaching than a returning athlete, and both need different coaching than a competitor preparing for a fight. Our coaches scale their instruction, intensity, and expectations to the student in front of them, not to a one-size-fits-all curriculum.

Honest, direct feedback

We tell students what they're doing well, what they need to work on, and what the next step is. No false praise to keep people happy. No vague pep talks. The honesty is what makes the progress real.

Respect from the door

Coaches address students by name. Students address coaches with the appropriate title. Senior students help newer ones without ego. The culture starts with the coaching, and the coaches set it by example.

Lineage & Affiliations

The credentials behind our coaching staff:

  • Serial Boxe Muay Thai: under Sensei Benjamin Schissler. Kru Ali's Muay Thai lineage and the foundation of our Muay Thai curriculum.
  • Shokunin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association: under Robert Wunderlich. Our BJJ affiliation and the basis for our rank progression.
  • Team Altitude Wrestling Club: partner wrestling program.

Train with Our Coaches

The best way to understand a coach is to take their class. Your first session is free, show up, train a real class, and see for yourself.
