Kids Muay Thai in Broomfield, CO (Ages 6--12)
A safe, structured striking program for ages 6–12. Help your child build discipline, focus, and real athletic skills, taught by lineages coaches in a welcoming, family-first academy.
Authentic Muay Thai: Adapted for Kids
Choosing a striking-based martial art for your child is a different conversation than choosing a grappling program. You want them to learn real technique. You want them in a serious, safety-first environment. And you want to know, honestly, what "kids striking" actually looks like in practice.
At Limitless, our Kids Muay Thai program teaches the same authentic Muay Thai we teach our adults but adapted specifically for ages 6–12. That means age-appropriate techniques, age-appropriate drilling, age-appropriate equipment, and a coaching approach built around skill, respect, and discipline. We don't water it down to the point where it becomes a glorified gym class, but we also don't ask your child to do anything beyond what's safe and developmentally right for them.
Below is what our Kids Muay Thai program looks like, what your child will gain from training, who is coaching them, and how to book a free first class so you can see it for yourself.
Why Muay Thai for Kids?
Parents come to us for different reasons, a high-energy kid who needs a real outlet, a child interested in martial arts after seeing it on TV, a quieter kid who could use a confidence boost, or simply a family looking for an alternative to traditional team sports. Here's why Muay Thai delivers:
What Your Child Will Gain from Training
Beyond the technique, here's what consistent Muay Thai training builds in our kids, the things parents tell us they notice within the first few months:
What a Kids Muay Thai Class Looks Like
Our Kids Muay Thai classes are designed specifically for children ages 6–12, with age-appropriate techniques, structure, equipment, and energy. Here's what you can expect when you bring your child to class:
- Bow in and warm-up. Class starts with respect; kids line up and bow in. Then a Muay Thai-specific warm-up with movement drills kids enjoy footwork, shadow boxing, light cardio.
- Technique of the day. Coaches break down one or two age-appropriate techniques, basic punches, kicks, defensive footwork, in language kids understand. Lots of demos. Lots of questions encouraged.
- Drilling without contact. Kids practice the technique in the air, on focus mitts, or on heavy bags. No striking another child. Drilling is supervised closely by a coach.
- Pad work with a coach. Children rotate through holding pads for partners and striking pads held by a coach. This is where Muay Thai becomes fun, kids get to see their power and precision improve in real time.
- Games and conditioning. Position-based games and structured conditioning drills make the workout feel like play. Kids leave tired without realizing how hard they worked.
- Bow out and high-fives. Class ends the same way it began, respectfully, and kids leave proud of what they did.
Parents are welcome to watch class from the seating area. We have nothing to hide, in fact, watching your child engage, focus, and improve is one of the best parts.

Meet Your Child's Coaches
We don't hand kids off to a part-time instructor. Your child trains under the same lineaged coaches who teach our adult program, with curriculum and approach adapted specifically for young students.
A Note on Safety
Striking-based martial arts come with reasonable parent concerns, and we take them seriously. Our Kids Muay Thai program is built around safety from the ground up:
- Kids do not strike each other. All striking is done against pads or bags, never against another child.
- Drilling is supervised closely. Every drill has a coach watching, correcting, and managing intensity.
- Age-appropriate equipment. Pads, bags, and gear are sized for kids, not adult equipment given to children.
- Partners are matched by age and size. Kids work with peers, not random matchups.
- No sparring in the regular kids program. If a child becomes interested in light, controlled contact training as they get older, that is a separate discussion with parents.
- Coach-to-student ratio is kept low. Every child gets attention.
Muay Thai is safe when it's taught right, and we're happy to walk you through our safety practices in detail anytime. Just ask.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What ages do you accept?
Our Kids Muay Thai program is built for ages 6 through 12. Curriculum, energy level, and class structure are designed specifically for this age range. If your child is outside this range, give us a call and we'll let you know what options we have.
-
My child has never done martial arts. Is that okay?
Perfectly okay. The vast majority of kids in our program walked in with zero experience. Coaches are great at meeting children exactly where they are, shy, energetic, athletic, or just curious, and helping them grow at their own pace.
-
Will my child be hitting other kids?
No. In our Kids Muay Thai program, kids do not strike each other. All striking is done against pads or bags, closely supervised by coaches. Sparring is not part of the regular kids program. We focus on technique, conditioning, and skill development without putting kids in contact situations they're not ready for.
-
Is Muay Thai too aggressive for kids?
Common concern, and the answer is no. Muay Thai is built around respect, structure, and discipline. Kids bow in and bow out, address coaches by their title, and treat partners with care. Many parents are surprised at how composed and respectful the kids in our program are. The discipline of Muay Thai actually reduces aggression, it doesn't increase it.
-
My child is very energetic. Will Muay Thai help with focus?
Yes: this is one of the most common things parents tell us. Energetic kids find a healthy outlet on the mat, and the structure of Muay Thai teaches them to channel that energy productively. Parents of kids with ADHD or high energy often see meaningful improvement at school within the first few months.
-
My child is shy or nervous. Will they be okay?
Yes: and they often thrive. The structured environment, the one-on-one attention from coaches, and the supportive culture give nervous kids a place to come out of their shell. Many of our most confident students started off too nervous to step on the mat. You can stay and watch as long as needed.
-
What does my child need to wear?
For the first class, just athletic clothes, shorts and a t-shirt. If your child continues training, they'll eventually want hand wraps and youth-sized gloves (around $40–$60 for both). We have loaner gear for first-timers, so don't worry about buying anything before you've tried a class.
-
Will my child have to spar?
Not in our regular Kids Muay Thai program. Striking is done on pads and bags, not against other children. If a child becomes interested in light-controlled contact training as they get older, that's a separate conversation with parents and only happens when we're confident the child is ready and a parent is fully on board.
-
How often should my child train?
Two to three classes per week is the sweet spot for most kids, enough to make real progress without burning out. Many families start with two classes a week and add more as their child gets more engaged.
-
Will Muay Thai help if my child is being bullied?
Yes. Kids with real martial arts skills carry themselves differently, and bullies usually pick up on it. The confidence, body language, and presence Muay Thai builds tend to make kids less likely to be targeted in the first place. And if they ever do need to defend themselves, they have real skills and good judgment about when to use them.
-
Can I watch my child's class?
Absolutely. Parents are welcome, and encouraged, to watch class from the seating area. We have nothing to hide, and watching your child focus and improve is one of the best parts.
-
What's the free first class like?
It's a full regular kids class, same warm-up, same instruction, same training partners. Your child will get a real taste of what training at Limitless is like. After class we'll answer your questions and walk you through next steps if it feels like the right fit.
