Train with experienced coaches in a welcoming, no-ego academy. Authentic Muay Thai instruction for adults of every level, from your first kick to your first fight.
Authentic Muay Thai Training in the Heart of Broomfield
Limitless Combat Academy has been Broomfield's home for serious Muay Thai training since 2017. Our head coach, Kru Ali Hanjani, is a former professional fighter who trained directly under Sensei Benjamin Schissler of Serial Boxe, meaning the techniques you learn here trace back to authentic Muay Thai lineage, not a generic kickboxing program borrowed from a YouTube playlist.
We built this academy on a simple idea: world-class instruction does not require a hostile environment. Whether you walk in as a complete beginner looking to get in shape, an experienced striker sharpening your craft, or somewhere in between, you will train alongside students who are here to get better and help you do the same. No egos. No hazing. No "earning your place." Just real coaching, hard work, and a community that shows up for each other.
Below is everything you need to know about our Muay Thai program, what it is, what your first class looks like, who is teaching you, and how to book your free first session.
What Is Muay Thai (And Why People Train It)
Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and one of the most effective striking arts in the world. Known as "the art of eight limbs," it uses punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and clinch work, a complete striking system built over centuries by Thai fighters.
At Limitless, we teach Muay Thai the way it was meant to be taught through real technique, conditioning, and pad work. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or sharpening skills for competition, you'll train alongside students who push each other without ego.
Who Muay Thai Is For
- Adults 18+ who want a serious, full-body workout that builds real skill
- Beginners with zero experience, most of our students started exactly where you are now
- People looking for self-defense that actually works under pressure
- Athletes cross-training for MMA, kickboxing, or general combat sports
- Anyone training for amateur or professional Muay Thai competition
Why Muay Thai?
It's the most complete striking art in the world
Boxing teaches you to punch. Kickboxing adds kicks. Muay Thai gives you all of that, plus elbows, knees, and clinch work. If you only have time to learn one striking system, Muay Thai is the deepest toolbox you can carry.
It works under pressure
Muay Thai is battle-tested. It's the dominant striking base in MMA for a reason; the techniques have been refined over centuries of real competition in Thailand and pressure-tested in every major combat sport in the world. What you learn on the mat actually translates to real situations.
It's a workout that doesn't feel like a workout
Most people who quit the gym quit because it's boring. Muay Thai is the opposite. You'll burn 600–1,000 calories per class without ever looking at a clock, because you're too focused on learning a combination or holding pads for your partner.
The community is unlike anything else
There's something about training combat sports together that builds friendships fast. The people you sweat with, struggle with, and learn alongside become part of your life in a way a regular gym membership never will.
Benefits of Training Muay Thai
Our students come for different reasons, fitness, self-defense, competition, stress relief, and they walk away with all of it. Here's what regular Muay Thai training actually delivers:
What to Expect in Your First Class
Walking into a Muay Thai gym for the first time can feel intimidating. We get it, most of our students felt the exact same way before their first class. Here's what actually happens:
- You'll be greeted at the door. We'll introduce you to a coach, give you a quick tour, and show you where to put your stuff.
- We provide loaner gear. Gloves and shin guards available if you don't have your own. Just bring athletic clothes and a water bottle.
- Class starts with a warm-up. Light cardio and stretching, modified for your fitness level. No one's going to throw you to the wolves.
- You'll learn fundamental techniques. Stance, jab, cross, basic kicks. A coach will walk you through every step.
- Pad work with a partner. You hit pads, not people. No sparring on day one, that comes much later, only when you're ready.
- You'll leave tired, sore, and grinning. Most first-timers tell us it was the best workout they've had in years.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need any experience to start Muay Thai?
No. The vast majority of our students walk in with zero experience. Every class is structured so beginners can follow along and learn the fundamentals safely. Coaches break down techniques step by step and pair newer students with patient training partners.
-
What gear do I need for my first class?
Just athletic clothes (shorts or leggings, a t-shirt) and a water bottle. We have loaner gloves and shin guards available for your free first session. If you decide to continue training, we'll point you toward the basic gear you'll want hand wraps, gloves, and shin guards (around $150 total for solid beginner equipment).
-
Is Muay Thai safe?
When taught correctly, yes. At Limitless we emphasize technique, controlled drilling, and pad work in regular classes. Sparring is optional, supervised, and only introduced after students have developed solid fundamentals. Injuries in our program are rare and almost always minor.
-
How often should I train as a beginner?
Two to three classes per week is the sweet spot for beginners. It's enough to build muscle memory and see real progress without burning out or risking overuse injuries. Most students ramp up to 4–5 sessions per week within their first few months as their conditioning improves.
-
Can I start Muay Thai if I'm out of shape?
Absolutely. Muay Thai is one of the best ways to get in shape. Coaches modify drills based on your fitness level, and you set your own pace. We've had students in their 40s and 50s start with no athletic background and end up in the best shape of their lives.
-
How is Muay Thai different from kickboxing or boxing?
Boxing uses only punches. Kickboxing adds kicks. Muay Thai adds knees, elbows, and clinch work, the full "art of eight limbs." That makes it more complete for self-defense and significantly more versatile for MMA cross-training, but it's also more technical to learn well. That's where a properly lineaged coach matters.
-
Do you offer women-only Muay Thai classes?
Yes. Coach Rachel leads our women's training, and we also offer dedicated women's self-defense seminars. Our regular Muay Thai classes are co-ed and welcoming, many of our most dedicated students are women.
-
What's the free first session like?
It's a full regular class, same warm-up, same instruction, same training partners as our paying members. No watered-down "intro" version. After class we'll answer your questions and walk you through membership options if you want to continue.
